Free Child Seat Safety Inspections, Pre-Winter Car Check, PC Training to Highlight Oct. 2 Anniversary Open House of Cross Country Sault Ste. Marie Contact Center

SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO, September 28, 2009 – Cross Country Automotive Services (Cross Country), the largest provider of driver and vehicle assistance services in North America, will celebrate the five-year anniversary of its Sault Ste. Marie contact center with an upcoming open house celebration featuring a number of activities for members of the Sault Ste. Marie community.

The public is invited to attend the open house from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 2 at the contact center, 475 Pim Street. Sault Ste. Marie. The contact center employs approximately 500 area residents, who support many of the Cross Country’s Automotive OEM and Insurance roadside assistance clients and their customers.

Scheduled activities at the October 2 open house include:

  • Guided Tours – Members of the Cross Country operations team will conduct guided tours of the facility. At the end of the tour, coffee and anniversary cake will be served in the lunch room.
  • Child Seat Safety Inspections and Discount Coupons – Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. trained inspectors with Kids Safe Algoma will conduct free safety inspections and provide instructions on how to properly fit your child’s car seat to your vehicle.
  • Cross Country, in conjunction with Zellers Northern Ave., also will provide participants with a coupon good for 30% off the purchase price of a new child’s car seat.
  • Free 15-point Winter Car Check Clinic – Also between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., trained technicians from Canadian Tire Corporation will offer free 15-point winter car checks, which will include free top-offs on windshield washer fluid.
  • Free PC Training Course – Cross Country will offer a free PC training course designed for beginning computer users who would like to gain more expertise with using the keyboard, mouse and multiple screens. The course will be presented by a representative from Cross Country’s training department.
  • Community Giving – Sandra Savage, vice president of Human Resources, will announce charitable donations that Cross Country will be making to five local charities in the Sault Ste. Marie area.
